Jay Leno was injured in a motorcycle accident last week, just months after he suffered second-degree burns when a fire broke out at his Los Angeles home.

In an interview published Thursday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the well-known comedian revealed that he was “knocked off” his motorcycle on January 17 and was hospitalized due to his injuries.

“I’ve got a shattered collarbone,” he added. “I have two shattered ribs. Both of my kneecaps are broken in two places.”

Fortunately, Jay is adamant about his full recovery. “But I’m fine,” the celebrity responded. “I’m fine; I’m working. This weekend, I’ll be working.”

Jay claims he was riding around on his 1940 Indian motorcycle when he smelled gasoline and decided to pull over.

“So I turned down a side street and cut across a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some man had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” he explained to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“You should know that because of this, I didn’t realize it until it was too late. It appeared out of nowhere and gave me a clothesline before throwing me off the bike. You know what happened in this scenario: the bike kept moving forward.”

Jay was taken to the hospital with significant facial injuries after a fire broke out in his garage in Los Angeles, California, in November 2022.

“Because of a gasoline fire, I sustained some major burns,” he said in a statement at the time. I am ok. I’ll be fine in a week or two; I just need some time to recover.”

Due to his injuries, he was forced to cancel his appearance in Las Vegas, and an email sent to attendees read as follows: “Jay is unable to travel because he is currently dealing with a very serious medical emergency, but his family was unable to provide us with very many details about the situation. We have no further information besides that he is still alive, so we will pray for him and his family tonight.”
