A 13-year-old Russian girl recently shocked the world after getting pregnant with her 10-year-old boyfriend. Daria “Dasha” Rubchinskaya of a Siberian town Zheleznogorsk has used social media to show off her 20-week-old baby bump. Her story has garnered a lot of attention, which led to her gaining thousands of followers. She claims to be an “influencer” now. She is also looking to tie up with brands to monetize her online presence. While her pregnancy was revealed when she was 13, she recently turned 14.
Daria and her 10-year-old boyfriend Ivan became famous after appearing on a Russian TV show, where a Russian doctor made some shocking comments. He had examined the boy and found that Ivan’s body was too sexually immature to create sperms, according to the Daily Mail. Dr. Evgeny Grekov, a urology and andrology expert, said that Ivan couldn’t be the dad.
“We rechecked the laboratory results three times so there cannot be any mistake,” the doctor said. “There cannot be sperm cells. He is still a child. There is even no testosterone. And just to add, he still has childish sex organs. Puberty has not started. So we have a lot of questions,” he added. However, Daria has claimed that she has had no other sexual partner except Ivan. She was vouched for by a Moscow expert psychological profiler. Even Ivan backs her and claims paternity.
The controversial TV show has built controversy in the lives of the minors as well. Even though the children’s parents had given consent to show their kids’ faces and the boy’s parents also agreed to him getting the medical examination, the curiosity can only be harmful for people so young. Moreover, the results were revealed to the viewers when the children were out of the studio. It took their privacy away at a time so trying. The young couple claims that they have been bullied online since they got famous.
Meanwhile, Darsha has presence on multiple social media platforms. On Instagram alone, she has more than 88,000 followers, where reveals updates about her pregnancy, according to The Sun UK. Even though there were doubts over the young couple’s relationship, they are said to be friends from a really young age. Darsha also has her family’s support and plans to keep the child. While the kids lists themselves as married on social media, the legal age for marriage in Siberia is 18.
However, police are investigating and the teenager’s school has been cooperating. “On January 13, 2020, the police received information from doctors of the Federal State Budget Healthcare Institution of the city of Zheleznogorsk that a 14-year-old schoolgirl was pregnant. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia have launched an investigation and a decision will follow,” the police said.
In February, there were reports in Russian Media, as per SUN UK, which claimed that Darsha was actually raped by a 15-year-old boy named as Stepan. However, the teenage girl, clapped back, saying, “First of all, I don’t even know any Stepan…”
Denying the report, she called it “complete nonsense.”
She had actually spoken about her sexual experience with Ivan on the TV show they had been on. She said that they had sex when his mother wasn’t at home. “It was Vanya’s idea [to have sex]. But I did not mind. He closed the door leaving the key in the lock, so his mum could not open the door. It was a bit scary – that it would be painful. It was just a little – and then everything was normal. It was a bit shameful, we were just hiding under the blanket,” she added, as per Daily Mail. “I did not think that aged 10 he can do such things…I thought that nothing would happen,” added she.
The girl’s mom, Elena, 35, had taken her daughter to the hospital when she showed initial symptoms of being pregnant. She had been clueless about her daughter’s condition then and thought it might be a stomach bug. However, once she found out she was supportive after the initial disbelief. The boy’s mom, Galina, 28, is also supportive and wants the kids to be happy.
Both mothers have agreed to help their kids raise the child together.
