The family of a mother in Alabama was left devastated after she died a gruesome death last year in a head-on car crash. Now the woman who allegedly caused the fatal accident is being charged with her murder. According to PEOPLE, Audra Mary Rogers had been driving her Honda Pilot near Northport when the accident unfolded. Her four young sons were sitting in the back of the car with their seatbelts on at the time.

On the other hand, Anna Lea Dalrymple was traveling northbound with her infant daughter in a 2007 Volvo when the incident happened. Dalrymple crossed the center line and Rogers attempted to avoid the crash but tragically the vehicle ultimately collided. Rogers’ four sons were injured, but thankfully they were non-life-threatening injuries. Heartbreakingly their mother was pronounced dead on the scene. Rogers was pregnant with her fifth child at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, both Dalrymple and her unrestrained daughter sustained serious injuries. Following a blood test, authorities allegedly found that she was under the influence of something that police described as “a cocktail of drugs.” This included Xanax, Gabapentin, methadone, and Klonopin, according to AL.com. Thus, the 36-year-old was charged with reckless murder in Rogers’ death.

Additionally, she faces four counts of first-degree assault for the injuries sustained by Rogers’ sons, as well as reckless endangerment and domestic violence for injuring her own daughter in the process. On February 24, Dalrymple was booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail but was released the same day after posting a $137,500 bond. She has not yet entered a plea.

The world tragically lost a beauty queen who was a professional bodybuilder and a three-time powerlifting state record holder on July 5, 2021. As for her family, they are still left mourning the tragic death of the loving mother who was crowned 2021 World’s Ms. Alabama Tourism. A GoFundMe page was also set up for raising money for her sons’ treatment.

“The funds collected will be used for expenses related to on-going healthcare needs of all four boys, any other associated expenses, and other needs deemed necessary by the Rogers family,” read the page. “The Rogers family is grateful for any financial assistance provided to help with expenses associated with the recovery of each of the four boys. Your prayers and other expressions of love are important as well. Thank you for doing what you can to minister to this family.”

Even her friends took to Facebook to post touching tributes. “All of us here at Crunch Tuscaloosa are just devastated by the loss of Crunch Tuscaloosa member and friend Audra Rogers,” read one post. “She inspired and motivated and her smile would light up a room.”
