Pierce Brosnan shared a heartwarming post on Instagram wishing his wife of 21 years, Keely Shaye Smith, on their anniversary.

The James Bond actor posted a picture from their big day. The photograph showed Brosnan, now 69, looking sharp in a black tux, white waistcoat, and silver tie. His wife, now 58, wore a flowy white lace gown with a long veil and held her bouquet close to her for the photograph.

He wrote, annotating his wedding night, “we danced that night and still dance the dance today. I could it all again.”

After Brosnan suffered some significant personal losses in his life, the couple established a solid foundation. Brosnan credits Smith with helping him cope with the deaths of his first wife, Cassandra, and daughter, Charlotte, both to ovarian cancer. As per The Daily Mail, he attributes Smith’s influence with helping him get out of depression, saying she has a strength that he “wouldn’t be able to live without.”

The family man, who has five children and three grandchildren, earlier said about his predicament, “I don’t look at the cup as half-full, believe me.”

In 1984, the Hollywood star went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he met Smith, a journalist. The couple’s first date seems like something right out of a storybook. Keely told PEOPLE in 2001 that they “sat down under the stars” and Brosnan held her hand. “There were fireworks going off over our heads, and Kenny Loggins was singing. We talked until 3 in the morning,” Smith said. “I understand why women find him sexy, because he is an appealing man. He really likes and appreciates women.”

The actor, equally romantic, told PEOPLE that he couldn’t get enough of Smith when they started dating — even when his career continued to take off and he was cast as James Bond in 1995. “Wherever I went in the world I missed her, and I’d send her tickets to come so we could be together. We just seemed to fit,” he said.

In 2001, they got married in Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland. The couple has been quite private about their lives. They welcomed their first son, Dylan, in 1997 and the second one, Paris, in 2001. Just a few months after Paris arrived, the couple tied the knot and have been happy ever since.

On his social media sites, Brosnan routinely posts pictures of his wife, and his fans continue to gush over the sweet bond he shares with his wife. He has proven to be wildly in love with her by standing up for her right away when some trolls tried to body shame her.

Happy anniversary to the lovely couple and may there be many more to come that are just as joyful!
