The news of Lisa Marie Presley’s death was incredibly heartbreaking for many people around the world. People collectively are mourning the loss, especially those who knew her personally.

Lisa Marie Presley’s relationship with Nicolas Cage was highly talked about even when it happened. The couple began dating in 2001 and then split in early 2002. But they got back together soon after and went on to tie the knot in August 2002. The couple filed for divorce soon after in November 2002. And in 2004, their divorce was finalized.
According to news reports from the time Cage said he did not want to talk about his relationship with Presley. He reportedly said, “I did not talk about the marriage and I am not going to talk about the divorce. But I loved her.”
Lisa Marie Presley however was more forthcoming about her relationship. She said, “We’re both so dramatic and dynamic that when it was good it was unbelievably good, and when it was bad it was just a f**king bloody nightmare for everybody,” in a 2003 interview.
She also said that the pair should have never gotten married to one another in the first place.
At the news of her death, 59-year-old Nicolas Cage made a statement to the press. He said, “This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”
Apart from Cage, she had also been married a few other times to Danny Keough, Michael Jackson, and Michael Lockwood.
She shared two teenage daughters with Lockwood. He shared a statement saying he would be focusing on their daughters as they navigate this heartbreaking tragedy.
“Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her. It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way,” Lockwood’s attorney, Joe Yanny, stated. “Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now.”
Lisa Marie Presley is survived by her 77-year-old mother, Priscilla Presley, and her daughters, 33-year-old Riley Keough, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood. Her son Benjamin Keough passed away in 2020 by suicide.
