A sweet sleepover invitation from a grandfather to his granddaughter has touched people everywhere. Megan Elizabeth, who has enjoyed a really close relationship with her grandparents, did not hesitate when her grandpa wished to be in her company. You see, the 92-year-old man has been feeling quite lonely, especially since his wife passed away years ago.
“Hi Megan it’s grandpa. Would you like to come over and have a sleepover? I haven’t been feeling well and miss you. We can order food and watch a mystery show. Love, grandpa,” read a screenshot of the message Megan shared on TikTok and Instagram. The heartwarming clip starts with Megan explaining her grandfather had been feeling unwell and was crying on the phone during one of their calls.
So when she received a sleepover invitation, Megan did not hesitate to accept it. “Yes! I’ll be over around 7! Would you like me to get you something from the store or anything for dinner!” she replied, adding that her old man’s health has been “declining so I take any opportunity to see him.”

Her grandpa did have a few small requests but nothing that would take more than a few minutes. “Could you pick up applesauce? The cinnamon kind. And if you go somewhere with mash potatoes, I would like that because I have no teeth and can only eat soft things. Ha!” he wrote. Later in the day he also added strawberry ice cream to the list and even noted, “You are my favorite granddaughter” even though she is the only granddaughter he has.
After getting off work, Megan went to KFC to grab all the things her grandfather requested and had a blast at his place. “So I got him mashed potatoes from KFC, applesauce, and ice cream and we watched his favorite black and white murder mystery show. But that wasn’t all, her adorable granddad made sure that she was comfortable.
For this, the thoughtful man placed some water beside her bed in case she got thirsty and even made her bed just like he used to when she was little. “He made my bed how he used to make it when I was little with my favorite doll of my grandma (rest in peace),” she wrote, adding how he also handed her a flashlight “incase I got scared 😭”
The touching clip ended with Megan holding back tears as she expressed how “Staying here brings back so many good memories from my childhood. I love my grandpa so much.” In the post caption, Megan praised the old man for being a wonderful example of love and loyalty. “I am thankful for my grandpa and he will never understand how much love he truly has shown me. And more importantly, the love he showed my grandma while she was alive. I believe in love and loyalty because of this man. He is my hero,” she shared.
